Rivermont Schools in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to create an engaging, inclusive classroom that supports students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You will design lessons aligned with standards and IEPs, using evidence-based instruction and behavioral supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Eligibility for or possession of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) certification with endorsement in special education or adaptive curriculum.
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and IEPs.
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs using research-based strategies and behavior analytic principles.
• Collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, and families to support academic and behavioral progress.
• Assess student performance and adjust instruction to promote mastery and engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student data, progress, and compliance with state and school requirements.
