Rivermont Schools in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to foster an inclusive classroom environment and support students with diverse learning needs. You will design engaging lessons that integrate evidence-based instruction and behavioral supports to help each student achieve personal and academic goals.

You’ll collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, and families, adapting instruction to promote mastery and engagement while maintaining thorough documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Eligibility for or possession of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) certification with endorsement in special education or adaptive curriculum.
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs using research-based strategies and behavior analytic principles.
• Collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, and families to support academic and behavioral progress.
• Assess student performance and adjust instruction to promote mastery and engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student data, progress, and compliance with state and school requirements.
