Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to support achievement and provide in-class assistance across reading, writing, and math with individualized plans and necessary accommodations. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and Texas Special Education certification; experience in special education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required).

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students.
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress.
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals.
• Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans.
• Teach small groups of students at risk in reading and math across settings.
• Collect and analyze student data to maximize achievement.
