Job summary

Merakey is hiring a Special Education Teacher for the Merakey School team in MT Pleasant, PA. The role focuses on Emotional Support and Autistic Support, designing and implementing IEP-based instruction and coordinating with related services to empower students toward independence.

Ideal candidates hold a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification and can obtain public certification within one year.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate or Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with ability to attain public certification within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Design, supervise, and implement students' IEP plans.
• Create and coordinate student schedules with related services and general education.
• Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate services.
• Participate in ongoing staff development focused on best practices for supporting students with Emotional Support and Autism needs.
• Implement evidence-based, state-of-the-art strategies to effectively support students in ES and AS programs.
