Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a K-8 program in Ellsworth, PA. The role centers on providing individualized instruction, designing and implementing IEPs, and coordinating schedules with related services and general education.

The ideal candidate will hold a PA Special Education certificate or equivalent, and experience with students with Autism. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and more; 10-month school year with paid summers off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special education, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
• Pennsylvania Special Education certificate; or Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with eligibility for public certification within one year.
• Experience or ability to work with students with Autism in ESY settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in an individualized program for students with Autism.
• Design, supervise and implement students’ IEP plans.
• Create and coordinate student schedules with related services and general education.
• Collect and analyze student data and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with a large team of professionals to coordinate services.
• Participate in staff development focused on working with students with Autism.
