Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our East Freedom, PA Merakey School. The role delivers specialized instruction through individualized IEP plans to empower students with Emotional Support and Autism needs.

Design and supervise IEPs, coordinate schedules with related services, collect data, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and engage in ongoing professional development using evidence-based strategies.

Qualifications

Must possess a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate; or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with ability to attain public certification within one year from date of hire will be considered.

Responsibilities

Design, supervise, and implement students’ IEP plans.
Create and coordinate student schedules with related services and general education.
Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate services.
Participate in ongoing staff development focused on best practices for supporting students with Emotional Support and Autism needs.
Implement evidence-based, state-of-the-art strategies to effectively support students in ES and AS programs.
