Rome City Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (General Curriculum) to deliver specially designed instruction for students under IDEA. You will coordinate with the IEP team, families, and paraprofessionals to ensure progress and compliance.

Office-based role with on-site responsibilities; requires GAPSC license and strong collaboration across multidisciplinary staff. Applicant must meet Georgia requirements and commit to professional development and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Three years of successful teaching experience as a general education or special education teacher.
• Valid GAPSC license with Special Education certification or endorsements.
• Preferred certifications: Elementary Education (P-5) or a Middle Grades or 6-12 Content Area.

Responsabilités

• Provides specially designed instruction based on high-leverage practices to students on the general curriculum.
• Directs the activities of paraprofessionals to support IEP goal mastery.
• Maintain student confidentiality and monitor confidential files for students with disabilities.
• Maintain open communication with families, colleagues, IEP team members, and department staff.
• Encourages social skills and participation with disabled and non-disabled peers.
• Attend staff meetings, training, and conferences to maintain professional competence.
