Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking to fill a part-time teaching position at 0.6 FTE. The salary range is established by the TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement and scales from $75,462 to $147,998 depending on preparation level and experience. The role offers a full benefits package and requires a Washington State teaching certificate.

Expected Start Date is As Soon As Possible. The job emphasizes planning engaging learning activities, assessing student growth, and aligning with district curricula.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with appropriate educational endorsement or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Washington State and Federal rules and regulations.
• Ability to implement the District’s curriculum, policies and initiatives for student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans and strategizes a program of study aligned to learning needs.
• Assesses student growth and provides progress reports.
• Supports school administration in district policies and classroom goals.
• Develops lesson plans with clear objectives and differentiates instruction.
• Establishes open communication with students, parents and community members.
• Maintains records in compliance with laws and district policies.
• Ensures student safety and manages classroom behavior.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in committees.
