Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is hiring a full-time teacher for an October 2026 start. This 1.0 FTE position offers 7.5 hours per day and a salary based on TEA collective bargaining with a range from $75,462 to $147,998, plus full benefits.

The role plans, organizes and provides students with engaging learning activities and maintains a positive classroom environment aligned with district goals and state standards. Regular assessment and documented progress are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university with an appropriate endorsement.
• Valid Washington State teaching certificate.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction tailored to students' needs.
• Assess student progress and report grades.
• Align instruction with district educational goals and policies.
• Develop lesson plans and provide differentiated instruction.
• Communicate with students, parents, and staff to discuss progress.
• Maintain accurate records and track student growth.
• Maintain classroom safety and supervise students during activities.
