Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools in Washington state is hiring a full-time classroom teacher starting October 2026. This 1.0 FTE position with 7.5 hours per day offers a salary range based on TEA contract, from $52.90/hour to $103.75/hour, with full benefits.

The teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to district goals, assess student progress, manage classroom behavior, communicate with families, and participate in school programs and professional development as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a valid WA teaching endorsement.
• Valid Washington State teaching certificate.
• Completion of required district trainings and background clearances.
• Experience with K-12 curriculum standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements a program of study that meets student needs and aligns with district goals.
• Prepares lessons; assesses student growth and reports progress.
• Implements district policies and maintains student behavior standards.
• Provides differentiated instruction and timely feedback to students.
• Maintains open communication with families and school staff.
• Maintains accurate records and uses data to inform instruction.
• Maintains safety, supervision, and a respectful classroom environment.
