Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools seeks a part-time teacher to begin as soon as possible. The FTE is .2 with 1.5 hours per day, and the salary is based on TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement: $75,462 (BA+0 step 1) through $147,998 (MA+90 step 20).

The role involves planning, instruction, and monitoring student achievement in alignment with district curricula and policies. A BA with endorsement and Washington teaching certificate are required, along with successful background clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university with appropriate educational endorsement; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans and implements a program of study aligned with learning needs and goals.
• Assess student progress and provide grades reflecting achievement; refer for evaluation as needed.
• Promotes district policy compliance, classroom management and student conduct.
• Prepare lesson plans and provide differentiated instruction and clear learning objectives.
• Maintain open communication with students, parents and staff; conduct conferences as required.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor student growth using formative and summative data.
• Supervise students in various areas and coordinate with community resources.
