Franklin Township School District in Somerset, NJ seeks a Special Education Teacher, Autism/MD for the 2026-2027 school year at Elizabeth Avenue Elementary School. This 10-month contract will provide daily instruction aligned with the district curriculum and ABA-informed practices.

Qualified NJ certification (PreK-3, K-6 or TOH), experience with emotional/behavioral challenges, and ability to teach in a self-contained setting for Language Arts, Math and Social Studies are required.

DESCRIPTION

Special Education Elementary Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide daily instruction for students in accordance with Board approved curriculum. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of ABA methodology as well as data collection and graphing. Knowledge of VBMAPP, ABLLS and AFLS a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate New Jersey Certification required:Pre K-3, K-6 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher (TOSD) of the Handicap (TOH)
• Must have experience with students who demonstrate emotional, and behavioral challenges, as well as some learning differences.
• Seeking the right qualified individual who has strong teaching skills, enthusiasm, and dedication to teach in a self-contained classroom for Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
• Successful Criminal History Clearance
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27 SY is Step 1 BA/BS ($68,023) - Step 18 PhD/EdD ($99,380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
