Onward Education seeks a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher (ASD) to support a Wayne County middle school for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on developing individualized education plans and delivering inclusive instruction in a collaborative environment.

The teacher will partner with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers, ensuring data-driven progress and positive classroom culture.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certification with Special Education/ASD credentials.
• Experience supporting students with ASD in inclusive or specialized settings.
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
• Collaborate with general education staff and support teams to design and deliver inclusive instruction.
• Monitor and document student progress; adjust strategies and supports as needed.
• Support classroom behavior and facilitate social skill development using effective, student-centered approaches.
• Communicate regularly with families and school teams regarding student progress and needs.

We're currently seeking a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher (ASD) to support a school in Wayne County, Michigan for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: 06/10/2027
• Location: Wayne County, Michigan
• Setting: On-site, 35 hours per week
• School Year: 2026-2027
• Grades: Grades 6-8
• Openings: 1-2
• Schedule: 8:15 AM - 3:30 PM
• Pay Range: $50-$55/hour based on experience

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certification with the appropriate Special Education / ASD credentialing
• Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in inclusive and/or specialized classroom settings.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
