Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher (ASD) to support a Wayne County, Michigan school for the 2026–2027 year. This on-site role is 35 hours per week with a schedule of 8:15 AM–3:30 PM and ASAP start.

Qualifications include a valid Michigan teaching certificate with Special Education/ASD credentials and experience supporting students with autism in inclusive or specialized settings. You will collaborate with general education staff and families.

Qualifications

Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Special Education/ASD credentialing.
Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs.
Collaborate with general education staff and support teams to design and deliver inclusive instruction.
Monitor and document student progress; adjust strategies and supports as needed.
Support classroom behavior and facilitate social skill development using effective approaches.
Communicate regularly with families and school teams regarding student progress and needs.
