POSITION

Special Education Teacher – Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires a valid Michigan teaching certificate with the Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV) endorsement.
• The district will consider applicants with other special education certifications who are willing to obtain the Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV) endorsement.
• An endorsement to work with students who are autistic pursuant to Rules 340.1781, 340.1782, and 340.1799 of the Revised Administrative Rules for Special Education.
• Knowledge and experience with students with autism at all levels is preferred.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues in professional learning communities.
• Knowledge of and practical experience in research‑based instructional practices.
• Knowledge and practice with formative and summative assessments to evaluate and improve student achievement.
• Ability to implement school district curriculum with consistency.
• Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data and use data to inform instruction.
• Collaborate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards.
