Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher (ASD) to support a school in Wayne County, Michigan for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is 35 hours per week, on-site, with a schedule from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM.

Start ASAP; End 06/10/2027. Pay range is $50-$55/hour based on experience. Eligible candidates hold Valid Michigan teaching certification with ASD credentialing and will collaborate with school teams to support students with ASD.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certification with Special Education/ ASD credentialing.
• Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in inclusive and/or specialized settings.
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
• Collaborate with general education staff and support teams to design and deliver inclusive instruction.
• Monitor and document student progress; adjust strategies and supports as needed.
• Support classroom behavior and facilitate social skill development using student-centered approaches.
• Communicate regularly with families and school teams regarding student progress and needs.
