Job summary

Responsive Education Solutions is seeking a Special Education teacher to support high-need students and to partner with families, general education teachers, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district SPED requirements.

Responsibilities include ARD meetings, referrals for evaluations, coordinating service providers, ensuring timely IEP reports, and supporting teachers with accommodations while maintaining open

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferably in Special Education).
• Valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education (or letter of eligibility for certification).
• Additional grade level or content area certification may be required for select positions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with campus administration to support ARD processes and child find efforts.
• Schedule and conduct ARD meetings to determine appropriate placement and develop IEPs within timelines.
• Assist in acquiring contracted service providers as needed.
• Arrange Full and Individual Evaluations/REED to meet timeline requirements.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to provide SPED accommodations and services.
• Ensure IEPs are properly written and implemented.
• Monitor student progress regularly and use findings to improve SPED services.
• Prepare and send IEP report cards to parents alongside general report cards.
• Plan resources and time to support general education teachers in meeting goals.
• Ensure compliance with state mandated assessments and alternative assessments.
• Assist with the RTI process.
• Develop and implement transition services as determined by ARD.
• Serve as campus resource person and trainer for staff supporting students with disabilities.
• Contribute to curriculum renewal responsive to student needs.
• Seek guidance from IDEA Coordination supervisor when needed.
• Support campus policies related to student management and behavior strategies for SPED students.
• Maintain open communication with parents, students, teachers, and administrators.
• Recommend policies to improve program.
• Implement school board policies and operation guidelines for SPED.
