Job summary

Spokane International Academy seeks a part-time Special Education teacher (0.4 FTE) to provide SDI aligned with IEPs and case management for middle/high school students in a collaborative, inclusive setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Special Education and a WA teaching certificate, with experience supporting students with disabilities and a commitment to data-driven progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Washington State Special Education Teaching Certificate.
• Experience working with middle and/or high school students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) aligned with student IEPs.
• Deliver services in individual, small-group, and inclusive classroom settings.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and student needs.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, assistants, counselors, and related service providers.
