Responsibilities
The Special Education Teacher will provide individual or group educational instruction. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: consulting with classroom teachers or other service providers, conducting initial evaluations, and monitoring student progress through daily logs, quarterly reports, and annual review testing. This role serves children with various physical, behavioral, and developmental challenges, ranging in age from birth to 21 years old.

This position requires a Master’s degree from an accredited education program and a current special education teacher certification meeting New York State Department of Education requirements. The candidate must be prepared to teach students with diverse learning needs, including learning disabilities, social/emotional disorders, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, or traumatic brain injury.
