Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to empower K-12 students in a supportive school setting. The role emphasizes creating and executing IEPs, collaborating with families, and delivering engaging instruction.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid teaching license with Special Education endorsements.
• Experience working with K-12 students is required or preferred.
• Strong ability to develop and implement IEPs.
• Excellent communication with families and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student.
• Communicate progress and challenges with families and staff.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit for administrator approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Collaborate with on-site therapists on student behavioral and disciplinary issues.
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment.
• Invite family members to participate in each student's progress and share quarterly reports.

Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

• Teaching License with endorsements in Special Education
• Experience working with K-12 children

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each of the students in your care
• Communicate with other staff and family members about each student's progress and struggles
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness
• Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
• Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment
