Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Special Education Teacher to join our team and support K-12 students in a positive, supportive environment. The role focuses on creating and implementing IEPs, collaborating with staff and families, and delivering engaging lessons with strong mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each student.
• Communicate with staff and family about progress and challenges.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them for approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support learning.
• Invite family members to participate in progress discussions.
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly.
• Coordinate with on-site therapists on behavior and discipline.

Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each of the students in your care
• Communicate with other staff and family members about each student's progress and struggles
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness
• Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
• Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment
