Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team in supporting K-12 students within an engaging school setting. You will design and implement IEPs, coordinate with families and staff, and craft detailed lesson plans for various classrooms in need of dedicated educators.

The role emphasizes communication across teams, ongoing mentorship, and a commitment to high-quality special education services, with competitive salary and comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Must have Elementary Special Educator License.
• Experience working with K-12 students.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute IEPs for each student.
• Communicate progress and struggles with staff and families.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit for approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled.
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support progress.
• Invite family members to participate in progress.
• Create and distribute quarterly progress reports.
• Coordinate with on-site therapists regarding behavioral issues.
• Maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.

Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

• Elementary Special Educator License

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each of the students in your care
• Communicate with other staff and family members about each student's progress and struggles
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness
• Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
• Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment
