Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher in Georgia to support students with diverse needs and contribute to a positive school environment. You will develop and implement IEPs and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction.

Required: Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education (Level 4+), and a Special Education Visual Impairment Endorsement. PDS offers competitive salary, health/dental/vision insurance, IRA with company matching, and

  • Special Education Visual Impairment Endorsement issued by GaPSC.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute IEPs for each student.
  • Communicate with families and staff about progress and needs.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them for administrator approval.
  • Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled.
  • Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support progress.
  • Invite family members to participate in educational progress.
  • Create and distribute progress reports quarterly.
  • Collaborate with on-site therapists on student care.
  • Create a safe, productive classroom environment.

Job description

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a Special Education Teacher to join our staff and work in an amazing school! Special Education Teacher Qualifications:
  • A valid Georgia teaching certificate in a qualifying Special Education field (typically Special Education P–12 or Special Education General Curriculum/Early Childhood Education), at a Level 4 or higher.
  • A Special Education Visual Impairment Endorsement issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each of the students in your care
  • Communicate with other staff and family members about each student's progress and struggles
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
  • Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
  • Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness
  • Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress
  • Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
  • Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students
  • Create a safe, productive classroom environment
