Job summary

Timberline Middle School in Waukee, Iowa is seeking a Special Education Associate to support teachers and students, reinforce learning, and implement behavior plans within PBIS, during a 7-hour day including a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and experience as an associate (preferred).

You will work with individual students or small groups, assist with data collection, and collaborate with a team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, preferred
• Experience as an associate, preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on individual students’ needs, interests and abilities.
• Support generalization of skills in an integrated setting.
• Demonstrate effective communication and collaborative skills in a team environment.
• Support PBIS for all students in all settings.
• Assist with supervision of students during drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
• Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in oral communication.
• Assist with lunch, snack, and cleanup routines.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students and data collection.
