Job summary

The School District of Lancaster is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students across all grade levels and programming areas. You will provide physical assistance, self-care, social and emotional support, and academic help to enable full participation in the district's programs.

Responsibilities include one-to-one and small group instruction, following behavior plans, maintaining safety, attending mandatory trainings, and compiling daily logs and progress notes.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or High School Diploma/G.E.D. required or verifiable education per PDE guidelines.
• Valid PA Driver’s License required; ability to report to various locations as needed.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with children with disabilities and/or medical experience.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to work with students with specialized needs; strong communication skills.
• Able to use computers and applicable software; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with tasks to facilitate full access to education.
• Provide one-to-one and small group instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Follow and implement behavior plans; ensure student safety.
• Attend mandatory state trainings and collect progress data.
• Complete daily logs and input daily medical access records.
