Job summary

The Camp Hill School District is seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals for positions across the District, including elementary autism support and middle/high school emotional support paraprofessionals. Responsibilities may include toileting support and all require Safe Crisis Management certification (training provided).

Paraprofessionals assist teachers with IEPs, implement instructional activities, and support students with disabilities in general or special education settings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior work experience with disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to maintain student and school confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and conflict mediation skills.
  • Cooperative, congenial and service oriented.
  • Able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Highly Qualified Status within 1 year via PDE options.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teacher in implementing IEPs.
  • Assist with instructional activities for individuals and groups.
  • Assist with student behavior management programs.
  • Work with students with disabilities in various settings under teacher direction.
  • Maintain data on students’ academic and/or behavioral performance.
  • Attend field trips and other curricular programs as directed.
  • Provide personal assistance to students, including dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Teach/model appropriate social skills, behavior, and attitude.
  • Complete 20 in-service training hours per year.
