Job summary

The School District of Lancaster is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist in providing a safe, well-organized school environment where students can access the instructional program.

You will support teachers, supervise students in lunchrooms, hallways, and buses, prepare instructional materials, assist with individual and small-group instruction, report incidents to the principal, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or HS Diploma or equivalent per PDE guidelines.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Experience working with students is preferred.
• Ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to customer service, organization, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instruction and classroom activities.
• Supervise students in lunchroom, corridors, and on bus routes.
• Assist with preparing educational materials and AV equipment.
• Distribute and collect educational materials as required.
• Monitor and report incidents to the principal or designee.
• Support students including those needing ambulatory assistance.
• Engage in ongoing professional development.
