Job summary

Sioux Falls School District is seeking an Education Assistant for Susan B. Anthony Elementary to support students with special needs and collaborate with teachers.

The role offers a 0.875 FTE schedule (35 hours/week) for 9 months, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and an additional $2 per hour for Education Support Professional differential pay. The position requires two years of post-high school education or the ability to pass a state test, experience with disabilities or behavior management, and a

Qualifications

• Two years of post high school education or higher, or pass a state-approved test for designated Education Assistant positions.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or experience with behavior management.
• Must demonstrate and pass safety competency review on a yearly basis.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in accessing transportation.
• Provides personal care to students with special daily living needs in accordance with safety competencies.
• Supports teacher with 1:1 and small group instruction in special education or regular classrooms.
• Maintains student records and monitors behavior in common areas.
