Job summary

The Sioux Falls School District is hiring an Education Assistant at Marcella LeBeau Elementary School. This 0.75 FTE position offers a starting wage of $18.42 per hour and includes benefits for those working 20 hours or more per week.

Qualifications

Two years of post high school education or pass SD approved test for designated Education Assistant positions.
At least one year of work experience involving interpersonal interaction and supporting students with social, emotional, and behavior needs.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical tasks as described.

Responsibilities

Escorts students to transportation and other areas of the building.
Provides personal care to students with special daily living needs as needed.
Supports 1:1 and small group instruction in special education and regular classrooms.
Works with students in school and on community outings.
Prepares instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
Reinforces instructional and behavioral objectives.
Maintains student records and supports clerical tasks.
Assists with supervision during recess, lunch, and playground.
Maintains confidentiality of students and families.
Performs other duties as assigned.
