Job summary

Humboldt Unified School District is seeking a Paraprofessional to support students with moderate to profound needs in a classroom setting. You will assist the teacher with instructional activities, manage transitions, and help with daily care as needed to maintain a positive learning environment.

The role supports IEP goals, maintains confidentiality, and may involve bus assistance and supervision on campus. Prior restraint training and CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified restraint training desired.
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
• Criminal justice/fingerprint clearance.
• Ability to read and respond to district emails.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers to create a positive learning environment.
• Support students with moderate to profound needs and IEP goals.
• Assist in student bus, transition, and classroom movements.
• Help with daily activities including feeding and personal care as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality under FERPA and report concerns.
