Job summary

Anova Education seeks a Special Population Paraprofessional to support students with diverse needs in various school settings. The role works under the supervision of a classroom teacher, assisting with instructional plans, materials, and assessments while promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The position requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent education, strong communication skills, and ability to work with students who may have disabilities as part of the classroom team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and special education basics.
• Ability to follow district policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Computer/data entry and basic accounting/offic e equipment knowledge.
• Ability to assist students with personal care needs when required.
• Ability to physically assist students (lifting, transferring).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning a program of study aligned with individual IEP goals.
• Meet with students in designated locations and times.
• Help develop and modify instructional plans and materials.
• Maintain records and follow procedures.
• Monitor use of equipment and facilities.
• Support safety procedures and HCPS policies.
• Participate in staff development and Safety Care training.
• Create a classroom environment that fosters student involvement and learning objectives.
• Assist in preparation of classes by organizing materials and supplies.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and communicate objectives.
• Plan and use instructional methods and resources to motivate learning.
• Ensure safety precautions for students and equipment.
• Assist students with personal care/hygiene needs as required.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assist administration in enforcing classroom rules and conduct.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
• Perform other related work as needed.
