Job summary

Idaho Falls School District 91 is seeking a Special Education Support Aide for a limited full-time role up to 29 hours per week during the school year.

You will assist with individual and small-group instruction, prepare activities, and help implement adapted curriculum under a certified teacher's supervision, ensuring a supportive, respectful classroom environment and data collection on student progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college credits or a ParaPro Praxis score of 457.
• Aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Patient, yet firm, with good communication.
• Able to work and communicate with staff, students, and the public.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares classroom activities for the assigned student under the supervision of a certified teacher.
• Works individually or with small groups of students to reinforce materials initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assists in drill work and with adapted curriculum.
• Assists small groups of students in library, computer, etc.
• Assists individual students in need of special attention.
• Assists in data collection of student's progress.
• Guides independent study and remedial work set up by the teacher.
• Helps adapt curriculum and materials for classroom use.
• Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Has regular and predictable attendance.
