Requires close collaboration with staff, students, and the public, and adherence to district policies. Eligibility includes 48 core college credits or a ParaPro Praxis score, Mandt training (or ability to obtain), and ability to lift up to 50 pounds with equipment.

Qualifications

• A. 48 core college credits or ParaPro Praxis 457.
• B. Aptitude for the work to be performed.
• C. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
• D. Patient, yet firm.
• E. Mandt training or ability to complete.
• F. Able to lift up to 50 pounds with equipment.
• G. Previous experience preferred but not mandatory.
• H. Board may accept alternatives.

Responsibilities

• A. Help teacher maintain organized, smooth class operations.
• B. Prepare for classroom activities under supervision.
• C. Work with small groups to reinforce material.
• D. Assist individual children needing attention and behavior support.
• E. Perform clerical duties related to assignment.
• F. Guide independent tasks set by the teacher.
• G. Assist with non-instructional classroom duties.
• H. Check notebooks, grade papers, collect data, supervise testing.
• I. Assist in student supervision as assigned.
• J. Help prepare displays and bulletin boards.
• K. Create supplementary materials under supervision.
• L. Pursue ongoing job skill improvement through training.
• M. Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality.
• N. Maintain regular attendance.
