Job summary

Jackson County Intermediate School District is seeking a Teacher Assistant to work closely with general and special education staff to provide quality educational activities for students. You will help meet basic student needs, support feeding, self-care, communication, and instruction while prioritizing student safety and well-being.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP goals, assisting with behavior management, and supporting daily living activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Preference for experience in day care or special education settings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate initiative and creativity with students and their programs.
• Implement IEP goals and objectives.
• Assist with behavior management programs and techniques.
• Support daily living activities and medical needs as trained.
• Assist with bulletin boards, open houses, and administrative tasks.
• Provide small group or individual instruction support.
• Support therapy programs under professional supervision.
• Assist with supervision during loading/unloading buses and in gym, classroom, or playground.
• Assist with lifting students when needed.
• Maintain records and other administrative support functions.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
