Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 48 college credits.
• Two years or 48 credits if transcripts are verified.
• High school diploma or GED with WorkKeys scores.
• General understanding of the District Educational Program.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Works under the guidance of certified teachers.
• Assists in supervising students through the day’s activities.
• Assists in creating individualized learning materials and modifying curriculum for access to general education.
• Implements motor/mobility plans from Occupational/Physical Therapists while supervised by a certified teacher.
• Assists with lunch/recess and accommodations.
• Performs routine clerical duties like duplicating learning materials, bulletin boards, inventories, filing.
• Assists with personal care (e.g., toileting, feeding).
• Supervises students for short periods during classroom hours.
• Follows daily lesson plans from the certified teacher.
• Attends professional development in Special Education.
• Serves on the IEP team for students served.

Education

Associate Degree or higher OR

Two years or 48 College Credit Hours (transcript verification required) OR

High School Diploma/GED AND Verification of WorkKeys® Scores*

Possess a general understanding of the District Educational Program

Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
