Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC seeks a Teacher, Specialized Behavior Support (SBS) to implement effective teaching strategies aligned to IEPs, develop lesson plans, and deliver group and individual instruction toward academic goals.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with administrators and educators, follow crisis procedures, administer tests, collect progress data, and design behavioral interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
• Master’s degree in education preferred.
• Valid, or renewing, NC Teaching license in assigned area required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with administration and other educators to create the most complete educational environment for EC students.
• Follow crisis or emergency procedures.
• Administer and interpret educational testing and data.
• Develop, administer, and grade tests to assess student progress.
• Design and implement instructional strategies aligned to IEP goals.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Provide care and instruction in self-help skills as needed.
