Job summary

Frisco ISD is seeking a Special Education teacher for the Specialized Behavior Support (SBS) program. The role focuses on delivering modified curricula and engaging students with significant behavioral and emotional challenges through highly individualized supports.

Qualifications

  • Valid Texas SPED teaching certificate.
  • Experience with students with emotional/behavioral challenges preferred.
  • Ability to develop IEPs and participate in ARD/IEP committee meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with IEPs and district curriculum; show written prep evidence.
  • Assess student achievement through formal/informal methods and adapt instruction accordingly.
  • Create a conducive classroom environment and provide positive behavioral supports per Student Code of Conduct.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and related service providers; maintain professional relationships.
  • Supervise teaching assistants and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
