Job summary

Minnetonka Public School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Education Resource Long Term Sub Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. You will start at Minnetonka Middle School West and transition to Clear Springs Elementary mid-year, supporting IEP-based programming and collaborative teams.

The role requires licensed ASD/ABS teaching credentials, with flexibility to obtain ASD licensure if needed, and involves strong communication with families and professional learning communities.

Qualifications

• Experience understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Strong curriculum background with experience teaching core content.
• Has previous experience teaming with special and regular education staff.
• Has experience with providing developmental skill instruction in reading, language arts, math and social skills.
• Has demonstrated knowledge in using behavior management strategies.
• Evidence of positive communication skills with coworkers, supervisor and public.
• Demonstrated ability to perform daily routines.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and classroom technology.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community.
• Maintains professional composure with diverse personalities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide programming based on IEP and analyze assessment data.
• Communicate with parents via Schoology, newsletters, calls, emails, conferences.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Responsible for case management of special education students.
• Complete required Due Process procedures within mandated time frames.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
