Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher - Resource to support students in need of special education services. This exempt, full-time position reports to the Director of Special Education and follows a 188-day academic calendar under a probationary/term contract.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, Texas teaching certification (or out-of-state equivalent), ESL certification by year one, and compliance with state/federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate or teaching certificate from out of state appropriate for position.
• Special education certificate.
• ESL Certification required during 1st year if not already obtained.
• Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum requirements.
• Provide instructional strategies and accommodations for students with disabilities.
• Assist in developing/writing students' IEPs.
• Monitor student progress using data collection and progress monitoring.
• Communicate with parents and colleagues to support learner needs.
• Attend required meetings and complete required reports.
