Job summary

Spring Branch ISD is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant - Resource to support students and teachers in the special education classes. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, preparing and maintaining materials, and following teacher directions.

The position requires English fluency, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with children and families. Lifting to assist students and other duties may apply; compensation follows the district plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.
• Educational Aide Certification.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to TEA and district policies and procedures.
• Assist in carrying out the instructional program under supervision of teaching personnel.
• Assist in preparation, use and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist with teacher‑planned activities, exercises and drills.
• Follow teacher instruction and guidance.
• Assist in maintaining student records and audit folders.
• Assist in helping students in self‑care activities, such as feeding and toileting needs (REQUIRED).
• Participate in planned in‑service and professional growth activities.
• Perform other related duties as required.
