Job summary

Qualifications

• SC certification in Learning Disabilities or Multi-Categorical, with strong GPA.
• Experience teaching special education in a self-contained setting with emotional disability/emotional impairment or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with supporting others with classroom instruction and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in resource and/or general education settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum, instruction, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, assistive technology, and behavioral interventions to support student success.
• Assess and monitor student progress toward IEP goals, maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide guidance and consultation to teachers, staff, and families regarding best practices in special education.
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
