Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher to support middle school students in Rock Hill, SC. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff and families to ensure appropriate services and accommodations.

You will deliver specialized instruction in a resource setting, develop IEPs, and monitor progress. A SC Special Education certification is required or obtainable via reciprocity; experience with middle school students is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Active South Carolina Special Education certification required or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Experience working with middle school students preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of special education compliance and IEP development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Provide specialized instruction and academic support in a resource setting.
• Deliver individualized and small-group interventions aligned with student goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Support students in developing academic, organizational, and self-advocacy skills.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
