Job summary

Family of Kidz in the North Shore area seeks a Special Educator to provide resource room support during school hours, with compensation of $60/hour. The position offers part-time or full-time potential and follows the school calendar.

You will deliver direct instruction, develop individualized plans aligned with IEP goals, adapt materials for diverse learners, collect progress data, and collaborate with general educators and families. Certification in NYS SWD is preferred.

Qualifications

• NYS SWD certification or eligibility
• Experience with IEP goals and progress monitoring preferred
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and families

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
