Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator Resource Room to support students with IEP goals in Nassau County, NY. This role offers part-time or fee-for-service options, with compensation around $60/hour and sessions aligned to school hours.

You will provide direct small-group instruction, develop individualized plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers and families to ensure effective inclusion and learning outcomes. Relevant NYS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 ( NYS SWD All Grades or Permanent Preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting children and families
• Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs and accommodations.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
