Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator for a Resource Room role in the North Shore area. Part-time or potential full-time, compensation $60/hour, hours during school days, and sessions per IEP mandates.

Responsibilities include direct instruction aligned with IEP goals, developing individualized plans, data collection, and collaboration with teachers and families to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 ( NYS SWD All Grades or Permanent Preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting children and their families preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
