Job summary

Family of Kidz seeks a Special Educator Resource Room professional to deliver IEP-aligned instruction in a flexible schedule across North Shore locations, Nassau County, NY. The role supports diverse learners and collaborates with teachers to implement individualized plans.

The ideal candidate holds NYS SWD certification (K-6, 7-12) and brings at least one year of relevant experience. This part-time position offers benefits and potential full-time opportunities depending on caseload.

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 ( NYS SWD All Grades or Permanent Preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in supporting children and families preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student's IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs and accommodations.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
