Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• In Title 1 schools, 48 college credits or ParaPro exam required.
• Prior work with those with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement drill and practice exercises designed by the teacher for groups or individuals.
• Keep accurate data on assigned groups and/or individual students.
• Supervise and monitor student instructional activities in school and community settings.
• Provide personal maintenance care for students related to self-help and hygiene.
• Implement procedures for managing student behavior per district policies.
• Support a positive self-concept and safe learning environment.
• Supervise students to ensure safety in class and surroundings.
• Prepare and adapt instructional materials under direction of the classroom teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student progress and limitations.
• Work assigned hours and potentially assist with bus supervision.
• Participate in professional development training per Special Education Department.
