Job summary

Applitrack is hiring a Special Education Para Educator to support students with disabilities in a 7-hour role. You will work under a certified teacher to deliver social skills instruction, academic assistance, and behavior interventions across classroom and non-classroom settings.

The position requires attendance at trainings, ability to work with students with Autism, and flexibility to adjust to various schedules and field trips. Competitive entry-level wage applies.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to attend any additional required evening trainings or meetings.
• Must be willing to follow directives of classroom teacher, building administration, and district administration.
• Ability to work with students who are explosive and may display aggression toward others.
• Experience or ability to work with students with Autism and Spectrum Disorder is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide research based social skills instruction and intervention under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Provide academic assistance, behavior interventions, and instruction of social and daily living skills.
• Attend field trips with students as necessary and supervise in classroom, lunch, and on bus.
• Follow multiple behavior plans and modify as directed by teachers and administrators.
• Support MTSS for behavior and academics and maintain confidentiality.
