Job summary

New Braunfels Chamber seeks a district Special Education Programs Director to lead program development and evaluation across the district, aligning services with best practices and current trends in SPED. The role collaborates with district staff and outside personnel to implement and improve programs that meet student and community needs.

The position requires Texas SPED certification or related experience, with a preference for a Texas Principal certificate and a Master’s degree.

Qualifications

• Requires valid SPED Texas teaching certificate or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of SPED programs, regulations and disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Establishes systems to support professional growth for district staff through workshops and demonstrations.
• Consults with district personnel on SPED services matters.
• Coordinate and manage district-level staff to support campuses based on student needs.
• Assign caseloads for district level teams to support campuses.
• Coordinate with principals and admins to implement SPED programs (academic, behavioral, ALT curricula, ECSE, transition, etc.).
• Evaluate ongoing programs and recommend changes.
• Collaborate with specialists/teachers to match student strengths with techniques/materials/technology.
• Coordination of district resources to support students with disabilities.
