New Braunfels Chamber seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to provide learning activities aligned with IEP goals. You will develop curriculums, prepare materials, and adapt instruction for students with diverse needs in either self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant settings.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and a Texas teaching certificate with SPED endorsements, plus ESL certification within one year. Experience with ARD/IEP processes is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsements.
• ESL Certification within one year of employment.
• Teaching certification in multiple areas preferred.
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional/therapeutic programs and show written prep evidence.
• Plan and use strategies, materials, and equipment reflecting student needs.
• Work with regular teachers to modify curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and plan activities accordingly.
• Present subject matter per IEP guidelines.
• Use varied instructional techniques and media for each student.
• Schedule and supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology in teaching/learning process.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Provide or supervise personal and medical care as per IEP.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Be a positive role model and support district mission.
• Create conducive classroom environment and manage behavior per IEP.
• Consult with staff regarding management of student behavior.
• Coordinate with district and external resources for student needs.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities; maintain records and reports.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in committees.
